Motion is medicine.
I’m Dr Laith Musallam, an accredited practising chiropractor with over four years of clinical experience and six years in rehabilitation and movement-based care. Most of my work comes down to easing pain, giving people back the movement it has taken, and the physical freedom that goes with it. None of it starts until I know what is actually causing the problem.

Mission and philosophy.

Motion is medicine. My starting point is that a body repairs itself given the chance, and that it does that far better when its structure is not working against it.
Root-cause resolution
Quietening a symptom is the easy part. What I want is the biomechanical problem underneath it, because that is what long-run freedom from pain rests on.
Evidence-based care
Traditional chiropractic adjustment is one part of it. Modern physical therapy and rehabilitation science are the others, and I draw on all three.
Patient partnership
Treatment here is a collaboration, and your experience of it counts. I do the treatment and I explain it, so that the person steering the recovery ends up being you.
One patient at a time, for the whole appointment.
Some clinics run on volume, with the adjustment standing in for the whole appointment. That is not how this one works. You have me to yourself for the session, and soft-tissue work and corrective exercises are part of it, so what you go home with is a plan rather than one adjustment.
The plan itself is yours alone: chiropractic care, physical therapy and customised rehabilitation exercises picked out on the strength of your history and what the examination shows. Built for your body, not pulled off a shelf. The work is on the posture and structural imbalances underneath the pain, because that is what holds once the symptom settles. The plan is built for lasting improvement rather than short-term relief.
Before anything is decided, I talk you through what I found. That conversation is the part of the appointment I am least willing to rush.

Nobody takes charge of a body they don’t understand.
Who I treat.
I don’t work with one kind of patient. What I do gets adjusted to suit where you are in life and what you want to get back to.
Junior athletes, U12 to U21, and local sporting teams
How much you are training, how well you are moving, and getting back to the sport when it is safe rather than when you are keen.
Older adults
Stiffness and arthritis, and keeping hold of the everyday movement that independence depends on.
NDIS participants
Care built around what you are working towards, and around the people who support you day to day.
Veterans
Back, neck and movement problems that trace back to service.
Workplace injuries and accidents
Moving again after an injury, and back at work when your body is ready for it.
Long-term conditions
Persistent back and neck pain, disc trouble and sciatica, and the strain that builds up from how you sit and work.

Qualified, and accountable for it.
